About the Course

In the first course of the Machine Learning Specialization, you will: • Build machine learning models in Python using popular machine learning libraries NumPy and scikit-learn. • Build and train supervised machine learning models for prediction and binary classification tasks, including linear regression and logistic regression The Machine Learning Specialization is a foundational online program created in collaboration between DeepLearning.AI and Stanford Online. In this beginner-friendly program, you will learn the fundamentals of machine learning and how to use these techniques to build real-world AI applications. This Specialization is taught by Andrew Ng, an AI visionary who has led critical research at Stanford University and groundbreaking work at Google Brain, Baidu, and Landing.AI to advance the AI field. This 3-course Specialization is an updated and expanded version of Andrew’s pioneering Machine Learning course, rated 4.9 out of 5 and taken by over 4.8 million learners since it launched in 2012. It provides a broad introduction to modern machine learning, including supervised learning (multiple linear regression, logistic regression, neural networks, and decision trees), unsupervised learning (clustering, dimensionality reduction, recommender systems), and some of the best practices used in Silicon Valley for artificial intelligence and machine learning innovation (evaluating and tuning models, taking a data-centric approach to improving performance, and more.) By the end of this Specialization, you will have mastered key concepts and gained the practical know-how to quickly and powerfully apply machine learning to challenging real-world problems. If you’re looking to break into AI or build a career in machine learning, the new Machine Learning Specialization is the best place to start....

Amazingly delivered course! Very impressed. The concepts are communicated very clearly and concisely, making the course content very accessible to those without a maths or computer science background.

The course was extremely beginner friendly and easy to follow, loved the curriculum, learned a lot about various ML algorithms like linear, and logistic regression, and was a great overall experience.

Simply Marvelous, The theory presentation is very engaging although I feel that Lab assignments are not properly explained and sometimes it is not clear that what the statement demands. Discussions of Assignments can also be added so it is clear afterwards.

If they somehow managed to put thorough Practical hands-on hand-coding videos, it would be 5/5, but now it's a 4/5 just because I don't feel confident after completing the course. But since I got it from financial I don't have anything to complain about.

that was really great Understandable explanation , Use different tools for Showing diagram but one thing is really important to me was more project near industry of AI for getting more experience and this couldn't support that, but that's Ok thanks a lot

It is a great course to get you started on machine learning in minimum amount of time! At the end of only the first course of the series, I have developed a deep admiration for the potential that machine learning holds in my field of civil engineering!

My rating is not an indication of the content quality - Dr. Ngs work speaks for itself. However, Coursera's closed caption quality is so poor it is a borderline insult to those who rely on them to understand his content. Horrible captions all around.

Very nice course for learning. it would have been great if it had some coding practices also, like to have experience of coding it for beginners. This course much more looks lika a theory class. But anyways It was very very nice having this course

Everything in this course was good except the coding side of things. They taught us vectorisation which i used in the last graded coding assignment but because they wanted me to implement the non-vectorised approach they didn't accept my code.

This is an exceptionally good course for beginners in machine learning. It covers all the introductory concepts really well and without losing any mathematical rigor. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to start out with machine learning.

Good or must say way better course than any other to start off with . I have been into Machine Learning from past 7 months but this course really helped me to understand the concepts and algorithms at more root and basic level than any other .

The content is good quality and very well explained, the course should encourage more effort from student to apply what is learned. I found most of practice labs too easy and in many cases zero effort required as everything was done already.

I find it absolutely wonderful. Any beginner can easily understand it.

I think one way to make it better is to add additional lab videos for doing optional lab stuff.

Enjoyed a lot, Andrew Ng you are greatest teacher I have ever met. Thank You.

The only negative mark I have is that I no longer have access to my code. There are many other applications that allow you access after you have taken the course. I don't like that I have to subscribe in order to use the code I'd written. :/

Great Course, It helped me gain a strong foundation and the content given in each of the labs and the practical implementations made the course most productive and interactive. Would've love more practical projects in the end of the course.

Really good course and very nice teacher. However, it's missing real world projects from scratch to practice instead of having already completed python notebooks. Also the quizzes should be more complex. Sometime we only have one question.

Good one, I liked the lab and the way it works flawlessly. But I have had this one issue where the first lab did not work, which I think was due to the fact I tried submitting it in the night. Other than that, this course was taken well.

The course material is pretty good, actually kind of great! But, what I think the course is missing, at least so far, is more problems that can be solved. I think adding additional problems, maybe with less hand holding would be great!

Very good course. It shows all of the mathematical components of machine learning and how we can utilize these math skills to put together a reliable model while making sure it is accurate to the data and the trends we see are right.

Skit learn library is not teached properly and also the labs doesn't tell how to implement by writing your code own rest is good content is good teacher is good the only problem i had is with the labs and the actual implementation .

The Coursera Machine Learning Specialization offers an excellent foundation, covering essential algorithms and concepts with hands-on coding exercises. Ideal for beginners and intermediate learners looking to build solid ML skills.

The course was very elaborate, and the exercises were illustrative. The community framework needs very much work to be done. Although the mentors were responsive, the sense of ownership of the functional issues was lacking!

Great course.. andrew goes much deep in clearing the concepts about Linear regression and Logistic regression.. even though it says it is a beginners course one should have prior knowledge of what are they getting into..

Exceptional. I do not think any other course can teach machine learning better than this. But the projects were mostly there to explain the concepts. I feel like there were no projects made for the sake of making them.

The course instructor should have made the assignments harder otherwise people can just copy and paste the code provided by the instructor to pass the entire course; this lowers the creditability of the course a lot.

I think it was great introductory course and very nicely taught by Mr. Andrew Ng. Learned practical skills with lab practices. I look forward to completing other 2 courses and get specialization in machine learning.
