Barbara R. Medvec DNP, RN, MSA, MSN, NEA-BC: Clinical Associate Professor Program Lead for Masters in Nursing – Leadership, Analytics and Innovation Department of Systems, Populations and Leadership Dr. Barbara R. Medvec DNP, RN, MSA, MSN, NEA-BC, is an Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Michigan School of Nursing and prior senior healthcare executive and System Chief Nursing Executive. She has a history of success in leading and coaching teams for transformational organizational success in both large multi-hospital, ambulatory care practices, and moderate sized healthcare and nursing organizations. Dr. Medvec teaches in the area of leadership, analytics, informatics, and quality and safety at the graduate level. She also teaches and is an executive coach in the Nurse Executive Leadership Academy in her practice role. Dr. Medvec’s scholarship and practice focuses on nursing workforce, practice environments, innovation, extended reality/virtual simulation, workforce wellness and vitality, strategic planning, and quality/safety improvements. She serves as an expert reviewer for a number of peer reviewed nursing journals. She has served on a variety of national, state and local organizations as a national board of director, officer and committee chairperson. She currently is the President for the ANA-Michigan Nursing Association.
